Undoubtedly, the biggest problem for every online marketer today is to get TARGETED TRAFFIC for their business.
There are different types of people trying to earn online from a number of different sources.
These sources include CPC ads, affiliate marketing, email marketing, content marketing, selling their own products and services etc.
But anyone and everyone trying to earn from any of the sources mentioned above require one MAGIC INGREDIENT to make money online.
That one ingredient which will change his/her life from mediocrity to RICHES.
You guessed it right.
With the increase in the number of blogs today, there is plenty of content out there to teach you about how to get traffic on your blog or website for free.
But one must understand that what is required to earn money and make fortunes online is not just any kind of traffic.
It is TARGETED TRAFFIC.
Here in this post, I will be talking about 7 ways to get TARGETED TRAFFIC on your blog for FREE.
Each of them, when used properly, will open doors to your blog, for people who are ready to spend money for what you have to offer.
So, without further ado, let’s dive into each step one by one.
1. Guest Blogging
You might be a newbie blogger or a professional, but as of today, there are great chances of competition already being present in your niche online.
There will definitely be someone who is already kicking ass and earning a lot of money online through the ENGAGED AUDIENCE ON HIS/HER BLOG.
There is your TARGETED AUDIENCE.
How about if you could actually get your competitor’s audience to your blog?
It’d be COOL RIGHT?
This cool thing can be done by GUEST BLOGGING a.k.a. GUEST POSTING.
As the name indicates, you, as a GUEST, POST an article on an already famous competitor’s blog in your niche. If the competitor publishes it on their blog, you may get TARGETED TRAFFIC from your competitor’s blog to your blog.
Now you might be thinking HOW and WHY would the competitor allow me to do that.
The answer is simple.
Every blogger out there wants to help his/her audience by providing them high-quality content that helps them in some way. If you have a post that could help them achieve that, chances are he/she would love to publish it on their blog.
Here’s how to do this:
After you have created the guest post for the competitor, you can send an email to the competitor describing him about the details of your blog post and how it would help their audience.
You might even offer to send them the copy of that post either with the email or maybe after they have replied to your first email.
You might be thinking, But how actually does posting on my competitor’s site gets back traffic to my site?
The answer is that the sites which accept guest posts generally have an About The Author section below their posts. There, you will be allowed to describe yourself and your blog. You can add a link to your blog or your landing page in that description. If someone clicks on your link, the traffic from competitor’s site will flow back to your site.
Cool, Isn’t it?
Guest blogging allows you to prove yourself an authority by providing high-quality content and also create relationships with already existing authority sites in your niche.
It is still one of the best ways out there to build an audience for your blog.
2. Blog Commenting
It makes you happy when someone leaves a comment on your post that you had worked hard on. Isn’t it?
Similarly, it makes others happy as well.
But we are here to get TARGETED TRAFFIC right.
How about if we could do both?
Most commenting systems require the commenter to provide 3 things before submitting their comment for moderation. Your name, your email, and your website URL.
When your comment is approved by the blog owner, people can reach your website through your website URL linked to your name, as shown in the image below.
When you comment on an authority blog of your niche and help people with their problems in comments, it makes the blog owner happy, the other commenter happy [whose problem you solved] and you may get targeted traffic back to your blog as you prove yourself to be an authority in your niche.
People may read comments on the competitor’s site in future as well, and hence you may keep on getting traffic from a comment you might have posted weeks, months or even years ago.So, subscribe to your competitor’s newsletter so that you get notified as soon as their post goes live and try to be one of the top 10 people who comment so that your comment could be visible to as many people as possible.
This is what makes this technique one of the bests. It makes everybody happy.

Getting targeted traffic from forums are somewhat similar to blog commenting.
You become part of a community related to your niche, engage with other people in the community and help them with their problems.
One way you can do this is by providing a link to one of your posts that will help them solve their problem and this way traffic flows from forum back to your blog.
What will happen now is that, as long as the community keeps on building and people visit the thread in which you helped solved a specific problem, TARGETED TRAFFIC, related to YOUR NICHE, will keep on flowing back to your blog through that forum for weeks, months or even years to come.
Some forums might not allow you to post links to your blog posts, but you can still benefit from those forums.
Similar to blog commenting, when you register to join a forum you can add your website URL to your description.
So, when you are out in the forum helping others, you are proving yourself to be an expert, an authority in your niche and people will follow back to your blog to learn more about what you have to offer.

4. Facebook Groups
A household name nowadays.
What started with a mere social communication platform is now among the world’s biggest business platform.
As business requires traffic, and Facebook being the giant in respect to the millions of users of Facebook every day, you can use it to get TARGETED TRAFFIC to your blog.
The key is Facebook Groups.
What you need to do is search for the active Facebook Groups where your audience hangs out most of the time discussing its interests and problems, become a member of those groups and start helping others.
That’s your chance right there to prove yourself an authority, an expert in your niche and help people with your content.
See how well people engage in facebook groups:
The idea is similar to that of using forums, but what’s wrong in getting TARGETED TRAFFIC from as many sources as possible, right? More targeted traffic means more money, and who wouldn’t want that!!!
Here’s a guide by SmartBlogger on How to Use Facebook Groups to Get More Traffic and Traction for Your Blog.
Search Engine Optimization.
There’s no question that a few well-ranked pages in google search can lead to a plethora of free organic traffic.
You can call it the holy grail.
If you ask 100 bloggers and marketers what they want in the whole wide web, I guarantee at least 90 of them will say high search engine rankings.
SEO is generally of two types:
ON Page SEO & OFF Page SEO
On-page SEO (also known as “on-site” SEO) is the act of optimizing different parts of your website that affect your search engine rankings.
On Page SEO can be done by optimizing your posts for Search Engines. There are a number of WordPress plugins to help you get started.
My recommendation is the YOAST SEO WordPress plugin.
It will guide you through all the steps on how to set your site for SEO, ALL IN ONE PLACE itself.
Off-page SEO focuses on increasing the authority of your domain through the act of getting links from other websites.
The biggest off-page SEO factor is the number and quality of backlinks to your website and eventually get more TARGETED TRAFFIC.
So if you want to constantly get TARGETED TRAFFIC to your blog. Work up on your site’s SEO.
6. Blogger Outreach
Blogger outreach can literally make or break your blog.
Blogger outreach is the process of helping out influencers and then reaching out to see if they could do the same.
For Example, If I were doing blogger outreach right now, I’d be targeting bloggers with a larger reach/audience than me, help them out, and then reach out to try and get them to hook me up.
Blogger outreach is like making new friends. It takes some time. But when you get there, you can become so tight that they’ll do anything for you.
Using Blogger Outreach, you first have to decide what end result do you want from it.
Is it a share, a backlink or a guest post.
After you have decided, just get to work to find new friends, help them out and in return ask for their help for the end result you decided for yourself above.
You might notice that any of the three end results if achieved, will get you TARGETED TRAFFIC to your blog.

7. Expert Round-Up Posts
An expert roundup is what some would call a one-question group interview.
That’s basically what it is.
You ask an X amount of experts in your niche a specific question and post their answers on your blog like a list post.
You then notify each one of them after your post is live. They will spread the news out to their audience linking back to your post.
This is how you will get TARGETED TRAFFIC to your blog.
